Sergio Rivas is our guest for this Sunday May 21st masterclass at noon, as he talks to us about the role of the double bass and tango. Mr. Rivas is currently the soloist of the Orquesta Nacional de Música Argentina. He is also a member of many renowned Argentinian musical ensembles such as: the trio Bareboim, the Rodolfo Mederos quintet and Quinteto de la Fundación Astor Piazzolla. Member of the International Society of Bassist, Mr. Rivas is an amazing performer that represents the double bass in both the classical world and in the popular stage. He has travelled all throughout the world and has a vast experience not only teaching but also about the rich history and the role of the double bass in tango. He is currently touring the United States and has graciously agreed to stop here in Miami and work with all interested double bassist of the area. His CV is available in Spanish below.
