Adrian Quesada, pianist in-residence
Costa Rican pianist and composer, Adrian holds a Master degree in piano performance from Florida International University in Piano Performance, where he studied with Kemal Gekic.
Adrian performed as a soloist with the Coral Gables chamber symphony for the Television broadcast WLRN CHANNEL 17. He also appeared as a soloist with the South Florida Youth Symphony, the FIU Symphony Orchestra, and, as a guest performer, with the Atlantic Classical Orchestra conducted by Maestro Stewart Robertson and the National Symphony Orchestra of Costa Rica with Maestro Irvin
Hoffmann. Mr. Quesada was the second prize winner of the FIU Concerto Competition in 2013 and a finalist in 2005.
Adrian participated in Sewanee Summer Music Festival in 2002 as a pianist and composer, where he had the opportunity of an orchestral reading of his overture for orchestra. He also performed in chamber music concerts and solo recitals.
Mr. Quesada participated in master classes with Van Cliburn silver medalist Yakov Kasman, Argentinean professor Pia Sebastiani, American artist Gary Hammond and composer Tania Leon.
As a graduate student at FIU, Adrian had the opportunity to be a Teacher Assistant and then joined the FIU School of Music in 2013 as a Piano professor and Accompanist for the Concert Choir and Women’s Choir. Adrian Quesada is also a faculty member of Blue Lake Fine Arts Camp in Michigan and of Miami Conservatory of Music since 2014.
